Resonance Campaigns produces direct mail and digital communications for democratic campaigns and progressive organizations.
Scott Simpson launches Resonance Campaigns after nearly 6 years with the direct mail firm of Gumbinner Davies & Simpson. Previously, Scott worked for several cycles as a pollster, experience that makes him unique among direct mail consultants and helps him understand what it really takes to create messaging that translates into votes.
Scott has worked for candidates, labor unions and progressive organizations from California to Florida and from New Hampshire to Mexico, and was named a “Rising Star” by Campaigns and Elections Magazine in 2011.
Born and raised in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Scott’s teen years were marred by a series of tragic losses by each and every Boston sports team. In the early 2000′s however, Scott met his wife Jeannie, and things began to change (for Scott and Boston sports teams). Scott and Jeannie have two children Max (7) and Mila (5) who keep them busy but very happy.
For almost ten years Sean has produced some of the most creative and most effective mail pieces in the business. As a Creative Director, he drew on his experience in corporate communications to help win more Pollie Awards than any other mail firm in 2008 and 2010—for two different firms.
Since 2012, Sean has been running Trail Ready Communications on the principle that strong creative connects with people, and it’s the only way to get everything you need out of your communications dollar. He’s been honored to help great public servants win open seats and defeat Republican opponents, even in difficult years for Democrats.
A recovering Boston College “Eagle” Mascot, Sean earned an MFA in Creative Writing, focused on poetry, from Emerson. His few published pieces are mercifully unavailable. You can trust us; we checked. Before he and his wife, Dr. Caitlin Thompson, had Kipp (2), Sean enjoyed trail running and playing the banjo poorly. Now he enjoys trains.
